Physical recordings in the library
In addition to books and periodicals on various musical subjects, Hiebert Library also holds an extensive collection of musical recordings, in both CD and LP format. To most easily find these recordings, start at the "Library Search" box on the library web page. Enter the name of the composer, performer, composition title, or any combination of those terms in the box.
The initial results list will show all resources in the library that contain the words you entered into the search box, including books, articles, and videos, in addition to musical recordings. In order to limit your search to only musical recordings, look at the gray "Refine by" box on the left side of the screen, which includes a section for "Format." You may need to click the word "More" in that section to see all format options. Once you've done so, you'll see "MUSICAL RECORDING" on the list. Click on it, and a new results list will display showing only musical recordings that match your search terms.
Musical recordings in the library are available either in CD or vinyl LP formats. In either case, you will need to request them at the circulation desk. Listening stations with headphones are available in the library for both CD and LP recordings.
